Teachers

Katie Cobalt

(HKG)

Katie Cobalt is a full time international Lindy Hop instructor based in Turin - originally from Hong Kong but via London. She is known for her classroom energy, dancefloor sass, and infectious enthusiasm for Lindy Hop. As a teacher, she focuses on individual helping her students on their own dance journeys. After teaching with Swing Patrol London for 3 years, she has had many students grow from beginners to being teachers themselves as well as placing in competitions.

Katie holds first place titles at Savoy Cup, Balkan Lindy Hop Championships, and Dragon Swing. While she continues to throw down in international competitions, Katie most highly values the joy and playful spirit that made her fall head over heels for Lindy Hop.

Stefano Tertulliani

(IT)

Stefano discovered Lindy Hop in 2010 after trying different kinds of couple dancing with his partner Giulia, he therefore found a way to combine his passion for black music and dancing. He started to travel around european festivals and workshops to study Lindy Hop and to search his own style with international teachers. Together with Guilia Cicerale he founded the Dusty Jazz Association of Torina in 2013, where they started to teach, perform and organize events. During his classes he matches passion and fun. He likes to work on dancing technique, rhythm and connections. He reached the 3rd pace in Open Lindy Hop Couples at ESDC 2015 together with his partner Guilia. Since 2015 he started his international teaching experience in some important European Festivals like for instance "The Chase Festival" of Heidelberg (GER), "The Lindy Shock University" of Budapest (HUN), "Rock that Swing" (GER), "Swing Summit" (FRA).

Mike Sonder

(USA)

Mike Sonder combines his knowledge of music, functional anatomy, physics, and a plethora of dance forms to create classes that are uniquely insightful, inspiring, energetic, and challenging. Mike strives to put himself in his students' shoes so that he can convey material as intuitively and thoroughly as possible. He loves seeing students' eyes light up when they understand a concept or feel a movement work naturally in their body for the first time. Mike taught in 19 countries and counting. He currently teaches Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Balboa, and well over 30 Blues idioms. Mike has not only placed in and won respected competitions across multiple genres but also thrown down hard in unofficial late night dance-offs. Mike lives and breathes dance. He is constantly honing his skills and developing new ideas. If you run into him at a grocery store, on public transit, in a museum, or on a mountain top, you'll probably catch him dancing.

Kris Blindert

(GER)

Kris Blindert has been a full-time teacher with SwingStep since 2011, teaching local classes in Heidelberg, Germany as well as international workshops from Israel to Ireland and many places in between. With her background in teaching astrophysics, Kris knows how to break down complex information into logical and easy to execute bits for her students. Kris' approach to dance is methodical and precise and she has an excellent feeling for what her students need in order to achieve the next level in their dancing.

Solo Jazz has been near and dear to Kris' heart for years, and she loevs to share it with students. A gib passion of hers is to see more solo jazz on the social dance floor, so in her classes she focuses not only on techniques and repertoire, but really loves to work on improvisation and other ways to spread the love of solo jazz and make it a bigger part of our community.

Saturday Evening, 10. April 2021 With Live Music

„It don‘t mean a thing, if it ain‘t got that swing.“

Only for us 1:1 recorded live music from the JazzBeanzz!
